I’ve been on this journey most of my life, but the defining of it is relatively new. It all began with the choosing of a word. I asked God for a word for the year. One which would lead and guide me. A word to bring focus to my spiritual growth, and draw me closer to Him.

His answer… enough.

I’m pretty sure by now Webster’s is a holy book. I use it often in my studies, and I am  amazed at what I do not know about language I speak. Sometimes I can look up a word and the definition allows His Spirit to speak to my soul. Not so with enough. Nope, it means just what I thought it did

…occurring in such quantity, quality, or scope as to fully meet
demands, needs, or expectations
…as much as needed

It’s been several years now with the same word. There are times I’ve embraced it with much passion and other times I wish I’d never heard the word.  Though I am not surprised by enough’s definition, I am in awe of the journey it continues to unfold in me.

Maybe you are like me. Never really grasping the enough of you. Never completely understanding God’s love isn’t based on your enough at all. Perhaps you too can speak God’s love into another’s life yet don’t quite trust He loves you the same. I get it. Oh friend, do I get it.

I would like to tell you what you’ll read here is the completion of His work in me through this word. But it’s not. It’s more of an offering. An unfolding of one word that continues to change me… move me… inspire me… redeem me.
